Case Study: School Hall Extension

The Brief

We were brought in to extend an existing school hall, creating valuable additional space while carefully working around the existing building and keeping the finished extension in keeping with its surroundings.

Scope of Works

The project involved the construction of a new hall extension, from the initial demolition and groundworks through to the internal finishes and external making-good.

The existing structure was carefully removed and the area prepared for the new extension, including new foundations, floor construction and insulated cavity walls. The new space was then built up with a flat roof, windows and new double doors, creating a seamless connection between the existing building and the extension.

Internally, the extension was completed with a suspended ceiling, new flooring, decoration and finishing details, with heating, drainage and electrical requirements incorporated into the project.

The Result

The completed extension provides the school with a bright, practical additional hall space that increases the capacity and flexibility of the existing facilities.

Careful consideration was given to the connection between the new and existing buildings, resulting in a finished space that feels like a natural extension of the original hall rather than an addition.

Another successful project delivered with minimal disruption and a finished space ready for the school to put to use.
